民家が散らばって点在する風景は散居村と呼ばれ、広大な田園を有する家屋が砺波平野一帯で見られる。毎年5月頃の田植えシーズンになると一面が水鏡になり、朝日・夕日を反射して幻想的な風景が見られる。

The scattered village can be seen all over the Tonami Plain. During the rice planting season around May every year, the entire surface becomes a water mirror, creating a fantastic scene.
