合掌造りと呼ばれる様式の家屋が残り、「菅沼合掌造り集落」や岐阜県の白川郷とともにユネスコ世界文化遺産に登録されている。約20棟の家屋には今も人が暮らしている。

Ainokura villag

The houses in the gassho-zukuri style remain and are registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, along with Suganuma Gassho-Zukuri Village and Shirakawa-go in Gifu Prefecture. About 20 houses are still inhabited.
